DirectionsWatch the two videos with your child first.
  • Then proceed to watch the activity video by clicking on the picture. Today you will be doing a ladybug addition.
    1. On a white piece of paper trace a large circle.
    2.  Divide the circle by drawing a vertical line in the middle of it.
    3.  Above the circle draw a rainbow arch and color it all black.
    4. Make some legs next to the main circle. Use 10 counters, whatever you have a hope to count, separate into two groups and draw circles to represent that addition.
    5. Finish by coloring it and writing the addition sentence at the bottom.
Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or text.

Objective: By the end of this unit the student should be able to represent addition using objects, drawings, or mental images.

Social-Emotional Studies:

Today we will learn more about our feelings.

Directions for the activity:

  • Watch the two videos with your child then listen to the story by clicking on the cover.
  • Proceed to watch the activity video by clicking on it.
    1. Cut the two flat sides of a cereal box or any type of thin cardboard. Trace a large circle on both pieces of cardboard and cut them out.
    2. Then find a smaller circle and place on the inner border of the circle. Trace the circle and cut it out, parents you need to do this part.
    3. After your window has been cut out, lay it on top of the other piece of cardboard and trace 8 circles. Remove the window panel.
    4. On each of the circles draw emotions and color them different colors.
    5. Once you are done, place the two pieces of cardboard on top of each other with the window panel on top.
    6. Write "my feelings" on the cover, and use a pushpin or a paper clip in the middle to allow the two pieces to spin.
Make sure to send a picture to your teacher when you are done.

Objective: Students will be able to share the different types of emotions they experience.
