Thursday Activity

*This week we will be learning all about adding to 10 in Math as well as using our new sight word to write a sentence for writing.*

Math:

Directions: 
  • For today's math activity we will be creating an addition sentence. 
  1. Have your child pick two things that they can draw, like in my picture. I drew fish and jellyfishes.
  2.  On the bottom of the paper write the sentence I have ___ ____ and ___ _____ that makes _____. 
  3.  Have your child fill in the blanks. 
  4. They can write the word for what they drew and how many of each. 
  5. The addition sentence must equal 10. 
Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or email of the addition worksheet or your notebook. 

Objective: Students will be able to represent addition problems with objects, drawings, or mental images.

Wednesday Activity

*This week we will be learning all about farm animals for social studies. For Language Arts, we will learn about the sight words little.*

Language Arts: 


Directions: Watch the two videos with your child. On a white piece of paper write the sight word little with a marker. Use anything from beans, pasta, cereal, paint etc. to glue over the word you wrote. 


Take a picture of your work and send it to your teacher on Classdojo or email.

Objective: With this activity, students should be able to read and write common high-frequency words.

Tuesday Activity

*This week we will be learning all about addition for Math as well as learning more about our feelings.*

Math:

DirectionsWatch the two videos with your child first. 
  • Then proceed to watch the activity video by clicking on the picture. Today you will be doing a ladybug addition. 
    1. On a white piece of paper trace a large circle.
    2.  Divide the circle by drawing a vertical line in the middle of it.
    3.  Above the circle draw a rainbow arch and color it all black. 
    4. Make some legs next to the main circle. Use 10 counters, whatever you have a hope to count, separate into two groups and draw circles to represent that addition. 
    5. Finish by coloring it and writing the addition sentence at the bottom. 
Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or text. 

Objective: By the end of this unit the student should be able to represent addition using objects, drawings, or mental images.

Directions

  1. On a piece of paper, create a treemap by dividing the paper in two and drawing a line in the middle(like the picture). 
  2. On one side write the uppercase G and on the other the lowercase g. 
  3. Find the letter "Gg"s in magazines and glue them under each side.

Objective: By the end of the week the student will be able to differentiate the lowercase and uppercase letter g.
