Thursday Activities

*This week we will be reviewing addition for Math as well as the different parts of a plant for science.*

Math:



Directions: Today we will be creating a flower addition fact activity. 

  1. On a piece of paper draw two large flowers. 
  2. On the center have your child pick two numbers larger than 5. You do not need to do the same ones I did. 
  3. Inside each flower petal, draw some ten-frames that your child can use to show their work. 
  4. Above each ten-frame, they should write the addition sentence that equals the number in the center. 

Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or text. 

Objective: By the end of this unit the student should be able to represent addition using objects, drawings, or mental images.

Wednesday Activity

*This week we will be learning all about farm animals for social studies. For Language Arts, we will learn about the sight words said and review the sight word said.*

Language Arts: 


Directions: Watch the two videos with your child. 

  1. Create two tic tac toe grids. 
  2. Have your child write the sight words little and said in random boxes. 
  3. Use two different counters to play. 
  4. Your child needs to say the word they want to place the counter on. 



Take a picture of your work and send it to your teacher on Classdojo or email.

Objective: With this activity, students should be able to read and write common high-frequency words.

Tuesday Activities

*This week we will be learning all about adding to 10 for Math as well as how to grow plants for science.*

Math:


DirectionsWatch the two videos with your child first. 

  1. On a piece of paper, trace a small circle. This will become the head of our addition octopus. 
  2. In the middle head, have your child write the number 10. 
  3. Make some arms that come out of the head. 
  4. On top of each arm, have your child come up with addition facts for the number 10.  
  5. Under each arm represent the addition fact using dots of different colors. 

Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or text. 

Objective: By the end of this unit the student should be able to represent addition using objects, drawings, or mental images.

Directions: This week we will be learning about words that start with the letter Ww.

  1. Watch the letter Ww and alphabet song with your child. 
  2. Then create a treemap like the one on the picture. 
  3. Make 3 boxes under each letter and have your child draw things that start with each letter. 
  4. Write the letter G or W next to each picture. You can write the word for each picture under it.

Objective: By the end of the week the student will be able to differentiate the lowercase and uppercase letter Ww.
