*This week we will be learning all about adding to 10 for Math as well as how to grow plants for science.*
Math:
- On a piece of paper, trace a small circle. This will become the head of our addition octopus.
- In the middle head, have your child write the number 10.
- Make some arms that come out of the head.
- On top of each arm, have your child come up with addition facts for the number 10.
- Under each arm represent the addition fact using dots of different colors.
Send a picture to your teacher through ClassDojo or text.
Objective: By the end of this unit the student should be able to represent addition using objects, drawings, or mental images.

Directions for the activity: This week we will be growing our own plants from home.
- Watch the two videos, the life cycle of a plant and "The Tiny Seed."
- First, start by getting a kitchen towel wet.
- Then, place the towel inside a small Ziploc bag.
- Use beans or seeds to place on top of the wet paper towel in the bag.
- Finally, hang the bag on a window that does not get too much sun. You can now watch your seed grow into a full plant.
Make sure to send a picture to your teacher when you are done.
Objective: Students will be able to use their observation skills to describe the patterns for what plants need to survive.
